Fola Adeola is an award-winning Nigerian novelist whose debut novel, The Accidental, was published in the United States in October 2014 by Little, Brown and Company. In 1999, she moved to the United States from her native country of Nigeria. She holds a Master's degree from the University of Houston in Creative Writing and a Master's from Columbia University in Journalism. Her short stories have been published in a number of literary journals including The Sewanee Review, Boulevard, and The Antigonish Review
She is a recipient of the 2013 Caine Prize for African Literature.
